Side Effects of Semaglutide and Tirzepatide
Some side effects like nausea may happen in the beginning but usually subside with time. Constipation can also result from these medications as food is held in the gastrointestinal tract for longer amount of time, but there are solutions for constipation. These medications may also cause abdominal pain, abdominal bloating, heart burn, and/or injection site reactions
Risks of Taking Semaglutide and Tirzepatide
Pancreatitis, gastroparesis (non-reversible condition), kidney failure, gallstones, allergic reactions, thyroid cancer (animal studies), ileus, depression (in small amount of people)
I Cannot Prescribe Semaglutide or Tirzepatide with History of the Following
Pancreatitis (not caused by gallstone), gastroparesis, family history or personal history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
Requirements for GLP-1 Drugs include BMI (Body Mass Index 30 or greater or BMI of 27 or greater plus 1 comorbidity: Type 2 Diabetes, Hypertension, Coronary Artery Disease (Heart Disease), Elevated Cholesterol, Stroke, Osteoarthritis, Metabolic Syndrome, Prediabetes, PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), NASH (Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease), and/or Sleep Apnea currently being treated with a Sleep Machine
